Hi, I’m Karleen!
I’m the woman behind the Choosing to Thrive community. I am a health, wellness, and lifestyle coach and Independent Arbonne Consultant.
I am a Colorado Native and chose to stay in Colorado to pursue my degree in Exercise and Sport Science at Colorado State University (Go Rams!). I also have an associate’s degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. I am blessed to live in a state that offers so many opportunities for recreation, adventure, and healthy living. I have been happily married for 28 years, we have 2 adult children and a dog named Shasta. We recently became empty nesters when my youngest left for college!
Choosing to Thrive means finding what makes your heart beat faster and seeking to create more of that in your life. It means living a full and thriving life, a life of possibility and hope, not just a life of survival. It is about creating health, wellness, and a lifestyle that will give you quality of life, not just quantity. I began my career working in Physical Therapy helping my clients to achieve a greater quality of life after an injury, operation, or medical emergency (such as a stroke). I was able to stay home to raise my kids when they were young and volunteered with MOPS International (Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers) where I was able to encourage, support and empower new moms of all ages and backgrounds. Motherhood can be challenging and I enjoyed seeing moms thrive in their new role. For the past 15 years I’ve empowered children and adults alike through teaching and training in the Martial Arts. This training is not only great exercise but also works on increasing confidence and self-esteem, it also teaches tools to physically protect yourself and your family and create a positive, supportive environment where people can (you guessed it) THRIVE!
